Laboring down with a peanut ball and doula providing counter pressure to support through contractions.

Pregnancy and Labor Support.

As your doula I am here to support you emotionally, mentally, and physically. I am here to teach you and your support system how to physically support you throughout your pregnancy and comfort measures for your labor and delivery.

What does a labor and pregnancy doula do?

Labor Doulas fill an important role in providing emotional, physical, and evidence-based, informational support to the birthing client and their family before, during, and after birth. With my extensive training and personal experience, I help you create your birth plan and advocate for yourself throughout your birth experience and empathize with the many emotions that come with pregnancy.

Does insurance cover doula support?

I’m proud to be the first Tricare-authorized certified labor doula in Nebraska. My clients are able to submit their payment receipts to TRICARE for partial reimbursement. I bring everything you will need to submit for reimbursement to your postpartum visit after your baby is born. For other health insurances, I write superbills and invoices for you to submit for your FSA/HSA flex spending accounts. Contact your insurance provider for more information regarding your plan’s benefits!

Are you available for my due date?

I hope so! The best way to find out my availability is to submit a contact form or email me. Since I am the first doula in Nebraska who is TRICARE authorized, I book up fast. I am currently booking into the second half of 2024. I still have availability for prenatal planning and my other services.

What comes in your labor support doula package?

Labor support packages begin at $1,200 and come with unlimited phone and email counseling, 24-hour on-call availability during your due date range, one in-person prenatal visit, continuous labor support, and one in-person postpartum visit (upgrades and add-ons available).

What hospitals do you work in?

I work wherever you choose to give birth, because I work for YOU! :) If you are new to the area and would like recommendations for providers in your network, reach out to me today and we can find one that matches your birth goals.

Do you support home births?

Yes! I support births at home with midwives present. At this time, I do not attend free births as it is outside my scope of practice.

What providers do you like to work with?

As your doula, I am comfortable working with any provider you have chosen for your care! Whether your provider is an OB/GYN, midwife, maternal fetal medicine specialist, family medicine doctor, etc., I am excited to support you.

What area do you currently serve?

I currently serve families in the Omaha, Offutt Air Force Base, Bellevue, Papillion, Elkhorn, La Vista, and Blair. If you are within a one hour radius of Omaha, there’s a good chance you are in my radius!

“Throughout my pregnancy and since the birth of my daughter I have referred to Kayla many times for information or even just solidarity from someone who dealt with something similar to me.”

— Carrie L.

“Kayla went over and above what was expected. Kayla continued to check in on me while I was in the hospital and came to visit me at home. She has continued to be there for me with all my postpartum questions and continues to support me with helpful suggestions. I will forever be grateful for having Kayla and truly feel that I couldn’t have done it without her..”

— Maria B.

Regardless of the distance between us, I am here to support you through your pregnancy and birth.
