Virtual Labor Support

This package provides in person prenatal support with virtual labor support. We will prepare together while you’re in the third trimester and build your birth plan, and then meet in person again after your baby is born. During your labor, you will have virtual access to me to process your labor options and receive emotional support.

What comes in your virtual labor doula package?

This is my mid level package that combines prenatal and postpartum visits with virtual labor support (starting at $465). Families have the option of booking one to five prenatal planning sessions (with at least one in person), and one in person postpartum visit. Additionally, this package includes unlimited virtual labor support through text, phone call, and/or FaceTime to get real time emotional support and discuss labor options while in early, active, and transitional labor as well as pushing position and method suggestions. This package is perfect for those who want a third person to discuss their options while laboring with their partner or support person.

What happens during a prenatal visit?

Prior to our visit, we will have an intake call where we assess your families needs and the topics you wish to cover to help you feel informed and empowered for your birth. Upon arrival, we will discuss your chosen topic and come up with an action plan to help you achieve your goals.

What topics can be covered at a prenatal visit?

You can use these virtual or in-person prenatal planning session with me to come up with a birth plan, learn your options for labor monitoring & interventions, a mini childbirth ed class, newborn care class, postpartum care and recovery planning, or learn comfort measures your partner can perform on you while you labor, advice with babywearing or babyproofing, and SO much more! Typically 1-2 topics can be covered per visit as time allows.

What happens during a postpartum visit?

During a postpartum visit I focus on emotionally supporting new parents and helping them process their birth experience, in addition to any assistance needed with feeding, newborn education, babywearing education, and postpartum recovery information.

Are these covered by insurance?

Maybe! If you have Tricare Prime or Select you are eligible to have six prenatal/postpartum sessions partially reimbursed through your insurance provider (I’ll send you a superbill and invoice to submit with your forms). Most or health insurances that have an FSA/HSA flex spending account allow for doula services to be covered. Contact your insurance provider for further info!

Is this the same as labor support?

This package will not have a doula attending your birth in-person, instead you will have virtual access to me throughout your entire labor experience. With my extensive training and personal experience, I help you create your birth plan and advocate for yourself through our in person or virtual prenatal meetings, and then follow up with you in person for your postpartum visit when you have been discharged from the hospital.

“I truly believe that she was born to be a doula because of her passion, intensity and gumption for her occupation. I knew if there was anything she was not positive about for answering any questions, that she would absolutely travel the world and back for me (and any client) to give the most informative, honest and best options for me to choose the best answer or decision.”

— Kaleena

“Kayla's online presence feels like sitting down for coffee with her in her living room. She creates a safe space for moms with everything she shares.”
