Adoption Doula Support

As an adoptive mother and doula, I am here to support you as you create your adoption plan. Whether you need help finding an agency or lawyer, looking for adoptive parents, or supporting you through labor, I am here for you.

What does an adoption doula do?

Adoption doulas fill an important role in providing emotional, physical, and evidence-based, informational support to the birthing client and their family before, during, and after birth. With my extensive training and personal experience, I help you create your birth plan and advocate for yourself throughout your birth experience and empathize with the many emotions that come with pregnancy. I empathize with what a hard decision placing your baby for adoption is and I am here to support you. Whether you need help choosing an agency or lawyer, interviewing potential adoptive families, creating your birth plan, or supporting you post placement, I am here for you.

What is your experience with adoption?

I have personal experience with family members who are birth parents, adoptive parents, and adoptees, as well as being an adoptive mother myself. I have worked with adoption agencies and lawyers, been through the home study process, completed Back to Basics Adoption Training, and adopted our youngest daughter in 2022. We have an open adoption with my daughter’s birth family and visit them often!

What is the cost for adoption doula support?

I’m proud to partner with Omaha Better Birth Project to support families choosing to place their baby for adoption. If you are not chosen as a grant recipient with OBBP, my services will be completely free to prospective birth mothers as you navigate your adoption journey.

What comes in your adoption doula package?

My adoption package come with unlimited phone and email counseling, 24-hour on-call availability during your due date range, one in-person prenatal visit, continuous labor support, and one in-person postpartum visit. I am also available for meetings with agencies or lawyers as well as prospective adoptive parents if you would like.

Do you support prospective adoptive families?

Yes! Prospective adoptive families can apply for doula support as well, whether that’s postpartum support or labor support. Please email me at hello@thebirthchronicles.co for more information.

Are you available for my due date?

I hope so! The best way to find out my availability is to submit a contact form or email me. If I am not available for in person support, I still have availability for private childbirth education, virtual doula support, and my other services.

“Throughout my pregnancy and since the birth of my daughter I have referred to Kayla many times for information or even just solidarity from someone who dealt with something similar to me.”

— Carrie L.

“Kayla went over and above what was expected. Kayla continued to check in on me while I was in the hospital and came to visit me at home. She has continued to be there for me with all my postpartum questions and continues to support me with helpful suggestions. I will forever be grateful for having Kayla and truly feel that I couldn’t have done it without her..”

— Maria B.

Regardless of the distance between us, I am here to support you through your pregnancy and birth.
